PROJECT

Writer: disha goyaldisha goyal

For project swatches I have selected red mushroom and traced it's forms, textures and different parts. After tracing the designs I collected materials that matches mushroom. I collected beads, thread, plasctic wire, soft fur kind wire, net fabric, etc. I manupluated these materials into mushroom's explorations!

Mushroom Description:

  • fleshy

  • oval in shape

  • flat in shape

  • spore bearing

  • circular

  • shape less

  • lines

  • smooth and rough texture

  • thin lines

  • spots

SWATCH ONE

In the first swatch I have created the texture of the mushroom. I selected two colours of net fabric (red and white) for the top body of the red mushroom. On top of the fabric I've stuck a few thermocol pieces and a few pieces of white pepples to give it a little bumpy look. These thermocol and pebbles represent the white spots on the mushrooom.

SWATCH TWO

For the second swatch I have simply made the form. I have used soft red wire, beads, brown paper and black marker.

SWATCH THREE

In this swatch, I have done embroidery, that represents the lines of the mushroo, white spots, etc. I have use running stitch, satin stitch, stem stitch and back stitch.

SWATCH FOUR

I have used chain stitch, back stitch and stem stitch. These stitches represent the gills(lines) present in the musroom.

I had a great time exploring the red mushrooms! There's so much more we can explore in nature.. Do comment and share your vibe!
