Color play a vital role in the world in which we live. Color can sway mood, change action, and cause reaction. It can irritate or soothe your eyes, raise your blood pressure or suppress your appetite. When used in the right ways, color can even save on energy consumption. As a powerful form of communication, color is irreplaceable. It plays a major role in the fashion world. A color palette is very important in fashion, it helps bring out the essence of the look and understanding of colors is of utmost importance because without a good sense of combinations the attire will look pale and dry.

Black is absolutely my favorite color. It is known as the absorption of all colors. According to German scientist Hermann von Helmholz, "Black is real sensation, even if it is produced by the entire absence of light. The sensation of black is distinctly different from the lack of all sensation." Many use the color black to symbolize all things negative. Throughout history, this somber color has been tied to death and all things evil and bad. It evokes strong feelings of anger, aggression, fear, and sadness. But for me, black is the color of confidence, power, style, etc.

As a part of our assignment we were asked to extract different colors from paintings created by famous artists and come up with swatches that give us an insight on the color palette and color schemes. Here are some of the swatches I extracted using Adobe Color-

As seen all these color swatches have been extracted from the painting 'Alley By The Lake' by Leonid Afremov. I'm amazed to see how a piece of art can have so many different shades of colors if searched for. Every swatch sets a different mood, they comprise all the themes colorful, bright, muted deep and dark that are the primary presets provided by Adobe Color. These themes help create the mood for a clothing line, interiors, accessories etc. depending on what one is looking for. Therefore art and paintings influence fashion and have a great impact on it.

I really loved working on this assignment and I had fun in the entire process. This particular assignment helped me understand colors in-depth and know their value. Colors put a life in every object!
